Color Matte AND Black Video not appearing in Project Bin

I've come accross this issue in 24.5. It definitely hasn't been fixed. In an empty Project the Black video isn't created if you do it via the File > New menu. But once you create a Color Matte or the black video via the project bin menu it magically starts to work via the File > New menu as well

Thanks for the note. True, for the past couple of versions, the Project panel must be selected before choosing a matte color or synthetic clip. I believe a bug has already been filed for this. I'll merge this thread once I locate the report. I apologize for the frustration.
