Constant, continual crashes with Premiere Pro 24.6.1/.3/.4/ and 25.0/.1

Not sure what the hell has happened to Premiere in the last few weeks, but it has become insanely unstable and buggy, to the point that it either crashes immediately after opening, or crashes the moment I try to select anything in the Edit window (specifically selecting the Mask for a Gaussian Blur, but plenty of other identical responses, as well).

Hardware is fine. Settings are fine. I've gone through the troubleshooting steps Over and Over. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, rolling back (identical crashes on 24.6.1, 24.6.3, 24.6.4, 25.0, and 25.1). Verified the following, when the crashes occur;

  1. >12 GB RAM and >14 GB Virtual RAM available
  2. GPU is NOT getting overloaded.
  3. Closed every possible other program.
  4. Verified ALL drivers are up to date.
  5. Upgraded After Effects to latest version.
  6. Errors occur regardless of status of GPU Acceleration
  7. Errors occur regardless of Audio IO settings
  8. Errors occur both with custom/reset views and preferences

Specs:

Windows 10

i7-10750 CPU

32 GB RAM, 40 GB Virtual Memory

Project on a local, dedicated 2TB M.2

Hi @rabinowitze

Thank you for taking your time to file a bug report. We would like to help figure this out with you. Does this happen to any and every project you use? If you make a brand new project do you suffer the same errors?

Thank you

Ian

Any implementation of (or selection of an existing) mask tied to an effect seems to cause the crash (e.g. mask for Gaussian blur). The error repeats regardless of the project.

Further details:

  • 4k MPG footage on a local drive, although the masks are applied to an effect instance on an Adjustment Layer above the footage (the footage itself has no effects/lumetri applied to it). The only effects applied to the adjustment layer are Lumetri corrections and the gaussian blur itself. Some clips that errored also have some minor speed adjustments, but this is not a constant across the overall clips that have errored.
  • The error occurs when I implement the effects in a new project, however when I delete the existing mask and re-create the instance of the effect, I get ~5 min of stability before it crashes.  At no time is there less than 8GB of RAM or Virtual Memory, no competing programs running, ample CPU power available.
  • Crash occurs regardless of graphics settings re GPU vs Software.

I've run a screen capture to demonstrate. Hopefully this will help clarify some of the issues.

The above video demonstrates the steps to recreate the crash. The below image is the error message that I recieve (my screencapture did not show it, so I have added this screenshot). (Apologies for the low quality and background noise)
