Constantly regenerating peak files for BRAW Files

I'm using PP version 23.3 for Apple Silicon, on Ventura 13.1 (22C65), editing a video with BRAW clips. Premiere constantly regenerates the peak files for these clips. It's not stuck in a loop as such, but very regularly Premiere loses the connection with the existing peak files and generates them again, meaning I quickly amass hundreds of presumably identical peak files. When I turn off generating peak files, I end up with an empty looking audio track, because the connection is lost.

I can't pinpoint an action that triggers it. It does it when Premiere is idle for a while, when I move back into Premiere from another program, or just when I pause playback. The problem doesn't occur with other file formats, only BRAW.

I've reset my preferences, and moved the cache location to various places, neither of which helped.
