Cuts in VO recording don't result in "through edits"

Explorer ,
May 31, 2024 May 31, 2024

Issue: placing cuts in a VO recording shows duplicate frames at the edit point rather than through edits

Premiere 24.4.1

OS: Ventura 13.5.2

System: Mac Studio, Apple M1 Ultra, 64 GB ram, Prores 1080p multicam sequenced on a NAS

Steps to reproduce:

-make a 1080 23.98 sequence

-create a mono audio track

-record VO

-make cuts in the VO

Expectation: through edits at every cut point

Actual result: no through edits, but instead duplicate frame markers. On playback it sounds fine, so they're not really duplicate frames. But it's displaying incorrectly

To make things annoying, I have other VO I recorded in the same sequence the same way that doesn't behave this way (behaves as expected). There is no difference in how these clips were created or treated that I can recall

It actually gets weirder. Referring to the screen recording above - if I slide those segments 1 frame over to get rid of the duplicate frame, it does show a through edit, but the audio now has a skip in it. Completely messed up

Screenshot 2024-07-25 at 2.55.23 PM.pngHello @membrillo6,

I am Kevin from Adobe Support, one of the moderators here in the bugs forum. Thanks for submitting your bug. I appreciate all the information, including the screen recording. Kudos! It has been a while since you filed the bug, though. I apologize for the lack of a response so far. While I could not reproduce this error in 24.5, if you are still having the problem, I hope you get assistance for this issue soon.

Sorry for the frustration.

Take Care,
Kevin
