Drawbot UI Error in Premiere Pro

New Here ,
Jan 08, 2026 Jan 08, 2026

When I import footage to my Premiere Pro, I get a "Drawbot UI Error". With this my video playback lags drastically. I work on a Asus Tuf A16 laptop with a NVIDIA Geforce RTX and AMD Ryzen 9HX. I have tried changing some settings and sequences, updated my GPU Driver and my Windows are fully up to date and using the latest Premiere Pro 25. How do I resolve this problem so that I can start editing again?

Issue: When I import footage to my Premiere Pro I get a notification (that red triangle that pops up) that says "Drawbot UI Error: An invalid cast was attempted from 'struct dvaui::drawbot::imageinterface const* _ptr64' to 'class dvaui::drawbot::OSImageInterface const*_ptr64'. " With this when I try to play my clip on playback or timeline the video lags a lot (the image actually doesn't move at all). This footage mainly consist from a DJI Mini 5 Pro drone and my laptop (Asus Tuf A16) should easily be able to handle this type of workload even if it's small projects this happens.

Steps to Reproduce: Upload footage from a Micro SD card from a drone onto the laptop into a folder. From there import footage to Premiere Pro and add it to your project.

Expected Result: My clips should play smoothly when adding it for trimming as well as playing it from my timeline.

Actual Result: The footage that I import does not play as it lags when I try to play it.

Adobe Premiere Pro Version: 25.6.3

Operating System: Windows, Asus Tuf A16 Laptop with NVIDIA Geforce RTX, AMD Ryzen 9HX, NVIDIA Advanced Optimus.

Video Format: 1920:1080 on 4k 30fps

This is my first time editing on this laptop as I only bought it about a month ago brand new. I've tried creating new projects as well and it just does the exact same thing (Drawbot UI Error and lagging video playback).

GPU Driver Version: NVIDIA Studio Driver Version 591.74

Processor: AMD Ryzen 9HX

Hi @arend.dw -Can you let us know what your integrated GPU (iGPU) driver version is?  You can find this information in device manager > display > iGPU > driver tab

What NVIDIA GPU do you have?

Can you check in your Preferences > General > "GPU accelerated UI rendering" is checked or unchecked
