Editing text Premiere crashed so hard it ruined my project.

I was editing some basic text on a black screen. Premiere hard crashed to desktop without warning, not only did the restore function not even trigger, the project and all autosaves for the past couple hours are now corrupt. Lost an entire morning of very productive work.

 

Managed to get a backup working, but now the in program text is small and a different font, and everything is running like garbage. The autotranscript is off by several seconds, and EVERYTHING lags. It's almost unusable, certainly totally unacceptable for a modern professional program charging a subscription.

 

Any help?
