Huge project size after nesting

Hello, I have a problem after adding nest and stabilization to my film, 
the project from 10mb increased to 600mb causing significant lag.
 Is this normal? project 4k. Pc rtx 3080 i7 13700k 64gb ram

What format is your camera original?  if it's an mpeg format, transcoding to an all iframe format like prores might help...  Certainly worth testing in a new project with a single file...   And not sure why you're nesting...    More info might be helpful.
