Interpret Footage no longer seems to work with the Premiere update

Interpret Footage no longer seems to work with the Premiere update as it did with older versions. I film at 50fps, and in Premiere before, I would interpret the footage and set them all to 25fps, drag them onto the timeline (25 or 50 fps), and I had my footage in 50% slow motion without having to change the speed of my clips one by one on the timeline to 50% (a time saver). However, this no longer works on my update of premiere. Premiere always plays the footage at the original 50fps (originally) even if you interpret the footage at 25fps. If anyone else noticed the same thing, I haven't found an option to make footage interpretation work properly.
Thanks
Jon

Hi @Jonathan335022024l6r,

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue. Please see, How do I write a bug report?

What kind of video files are you working with? Once you interpret your footage, are you seeing this change reflected in the Frame Rate info column in the Project window? Are you making any other changes to the footage or using proxies?

Sorry for the frustration, hope we can help you soon.

Dani

Hi Dani,

Thanks, I find out the problem.
On 25.2.1 (Bulld2)
If I interpret footage and change the framerate 50->25, it's will not change on the proxy in my time line. But if I desactive the viewing of my proxy the originle file framerate has change to 25fps. Only the original file is interpreting and not the proxy.
Maybe u can have a look.

Thanks, jon

Proxies are "as created" ... so the color space/dynamic range and FPS of the proxy will always be shown as they were when the proxy was created rather than including any changes done to the original file.

Thanks for the update @Jonathan335022024l6r. How and where did you create the proxies and what file type are they? The current guidance is to interpret footage frame rate before creating proxies, is this something you are able to try?

A workaround: If you select all your clips in the Project panel, you can also right-click > Speed/Duration, and you should be able to change to 50% speed for all your clips at the same time. You can also batch-select in your timeline and do the same to multiple clips.
