Marking Clip & Setting In & Out points won't display duration

Community Beginner ,

Every time I Mark a clip or set In & Out points in order to see the duration of something it won't work. If I click on another sequence and return to the one I was working it does. It's been like this for the past versions and I was hoping it would be fixed on the latest update. I'm cutting commercials and I need to see the duration of things very very often. Adobe please fix this, don't make us loose precious time!

@Andreas_Jonson could you confirm which version of Premiere Pro you're seeing this in? I can see this issue in the Source Monitor in Premiere Pro (Beta) v25.3. When I change the In or Out point, the In/Out Duration text doesn't update.

I don't see this happen in the regular release version though. Do you?

Not sure but I am guessing OP is referring to this issue:

Hi Matt,

this is the 3rd time I'm writting this. I hit Reply in the Adobe website and nothing happens. Hope you get it now.

I'm sorry for not including all the info, I realized after I posted.

Adobe Premiere 25.2.3
Mac16,5
Mac OS 15.4.1

I'm experiencing it in the Program monitor (haven't noticed if it happens in the Source monitor) more than half of the times I'm trying to see the duration of something.
I'm talking about measuring durations in the timeline either by setting In & Out points or by Marking clips - not specifically for audio as Ann syggests.

I've noticed a couple more issues in this versions. Should I let you ko where since we are talking?

Thanks a lot.

@Andreas_Jonson hm, that's strange. On my system the In/Out duration seems to be working just fine for the Timeline/Program monitor. I did find out that it's not working in the Source Monitor, and it turns out that's an issue that broke in our Beta version and it's strictly only the Source Monitor. We've got a fix for that coming.

But, you say it's happening in Program Monitor and I'm just not able to get mine to do anything wrong. Could you share a screen recording of it happening?

@Andreas_Jonson,

Thanks for the screen recording. I can't find any way to get what you show. You appear have two timelines stacked (pancake editing?). But I can't see the icons at the bottom of the monitor screen. Can you give us a shot of the whole PR program scenes?

@Andreas_Jonson,

Perfect. I still don't see anything that helps me replicate the problem.

You say it doesn't happen at first when you switch away from PR in focus and back. I close this project, create a new test project with a simple, single sequence, and see if you can create it there.

And I'd use a standard workspace and reset to the saved layout, then reset preferences.
