Media Pending- Can't Relink or Import new

Recently came back to a video editing project that was nearly done, and now all of the clips show as "Media Pending" When I try to relink the original video clip the program freezes. This is super annoying and nothing has changed on my computer so I have no idea what's causing it. I tried re-importing the original avi video clip and Premiere just gets stuck on the "Importing files" window....but it never imports the file. help.

Are the parenthetical characters an actual part of the file name?

They are, yes. Also an update: I just reverted to the last version of Premiere Pro and now it works again. Assuming this is just a bug with the latest update.

If you remove the parenthetics, does the file import?

As Premiere is not normally pleased with most non-alphanumeric characters. That might be the problem.
