I opened up my project to find that my entire edit is missing. All I see is a tab with my sequence name "Assembly Edit" - nothing else. I open up bins to see if other sequences work - they do load in the timeline but they do not play at all and I cannot see any imagery on the program monitor. Then everything freezes. This is happening on all of my autosave projects as well. Something is seriously wrong and it seems like a bug or corruption of some kind. I've already had a technician help me for hours last week and he had no clue.
Yesterday I salvaged a project that I had emailed myself (a safety backup) and it's the only project that will work. After editing using this emailed safety project - I saved it, and today I opened it and the same thing is happening all over again - nothing is in my timeline but the name of the sequence on the tab - it's all black. Also there is no imagery and nothing plays - even if there appears to be a clip loaded (though it is empty) - the play button won't work.
I even tried putting an In and Out point on the program monitor, copy the invisible sequence (only proof something might be there is that it shows the length of my cut and my markers). I then created a new project and new sequence and copied my invisible edit and for a moment I saw all the edited clips pop onto the timeline and then it quickly disappeared. One time my edit stayed on the timeline, but wouldn't play and then everything froze and the project crashed.
How can I escalate this issue with Adobe?
Thanks for any input.
Hi @sarac67,
Thank you for reporting a problem and sorry you're experiencing issues. If you are getting a Crash Report dialog box, could you add your email to it where prompted before sending the report so we can look it up?
Was this happening before any of the macOS or Premiere Pro updates or did it coincide with either of the two? Where are you saving the project, and does this happen if you try saving and or opening from a different location? Are any other projects affected?
Would yo

It is best to make a copy of a backup and open the copy, just in case there is something corrupting the project, especially if it is the only backup.

Yes, of course - that's why the emailed version is perfect-I can download it repeatedly if need be - it'll always start out fine, then if I use it and it becomes corrupted, I go back to my emailed copy and download it again.

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

Emailed version: I email myself the project throughout the day to assure that something backs up and works if all else fails - and in my case my projects in autosave were all failing. The one I emailed worked, but then when I shut down my computer and open up the project - I'm back to square one.

Try this:
Steps for launching without plugins
- Close Premiere Pro completely if it is already running.
- Start the application and immediately press and hold the appropriate key combination:
- On Windows: Press and hold
Altwhile launching.- On macOS: Press and hold
Optionwhile launching.- Wait for the "Reset Options" dialog box to appear.
- Select "Disable Third-Party Video Plugins (one-time only)." You can also choose to clear other caches, such as the
Plugin Loading Cache, to aid in troubleshooting.- Click "Relaunch with Options" to open Premiere Pro without your third-party plugins.

Would you be able to share a version of the affected project and the backup version that is working with the team? I can message you.
Sorry for the frustration,
Dani

Thank you so much for reaching out! I'm happy to report that this issue has been resolved. It was a corrupt multicam clip - once that was delete everything worked again!
