No Video in Program Monitor

Another issue with Premiere 2023 today. 2 different computers are having the same problem with the same large project containing MXF files. The Program monitor will not show a frame or playback video whatsoever. Audio will playback, but no video. We've tried clearing the cache, changing the render settings, and unlinking and relinking media, but it just won't work. The only way to get the video to work in the Program is to use the F shortcut key and drag the video back down into the sequence. THEN it will show in Program.

Any other ideas besides what I listed? This is a 10 min doc with 2 cams and I don't want to have to drag and drop each in/out point in again from Source.

Long shot: drop an empty adjustment layer over the footage.

Been experiencing this as well - certain media will inexplicably stop previewing in the Program monitor.  Source, Lumetri, and other previews of the same media still work.  It's been happening more often lately and thus far only (painful) reboots have solved it.  I tried something similar to Ann Bens' suggestion just now and it worked!  In my case I already had a black video layer below my footage, so I made a copy above the footage briefly; after removing the duplicate, the video once again previews.  Thanks Ann!

Follow up on this; happened to me again this evening.  I have a track with lower thirds on it; I scrubbed over one to see if it would appear and it did not.  This indicates the preview is totally broken, not just one piece of media.  As a test I toggled the lower thirds track output (eyeball icon) and the preview came to life.  If you have a similar track, this might save you a step...
