No Video Playback on HP Laptop

I have been experiencing this problem with both premiere pro and after effects where the playback preview only displays a black screen. The audio seems to work fine. I am currently using version 25.1 for both Premiere Pro and After Effects. In the past, I was able to bypass this issue by switching my GPU from Intel UHD to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, but now the audio and visuals seem to be out of sync with each other.

I am currently using an HP Victus Gaming Laptop | 16.1" FHD IPS 144Hz | Intel 16-Core i7-13700HX (>i9-12900HX) | 64GB DDR5 1TB SSD | GeForce RTX 4060

I am currently using the latest versions of both my Intel and Nvidia driver, but over the last several updates, this issue keeps on persisting.

Hi @JO_3835

Have you tried to roll back the version to see if you are still getting the same playback in the preview window? What was the last version of Premiere Pro you recall the video playback was working as expected?

Thank you

Ian

Yes I did try that. I don't remember the last version off the top of my head that I used, because this started happening sometime around early October. I did remember trying to use older versions but for some reason my videos still show up as a blank. I don't know why by the file size seemes to be a mismatch the second I put the video into premiere pro.
