Panels Overflow Panel Group in Stacked Mode

Since upgrading to Premiere 25.X, I have a UI glitch with Stacked Panel Groups.

If I have the a panel in a stacked group, the panel itself overflows the group. This means that I have to scroll down within the panel to access the UI elements and buttons at the bottom, like the List/Icon View, Create new Bin, etc. of the Project/Bin panel.

If I have a long enough list of items in the bin, I cannot click and drag a media item into the "Create New" button to make a new sequence from the item because the UI won't scroll down while dragging.

In addition, scrolling with the mouse wheel while hovering over the panel stops partway sometimes, forcing me to click and drag the scroll wheel.

This happens with all panels, not just the Project panel, but it's the most inconvenient one.

If I use non-stacked panel groups, the panel resizes itself to fit the size of the group properly and the scroll bar is only for the items within the panel:

EDIT: here's a larger screenshot for more context, showing both a stacked and non-stacked panel group:

I'm on 25.1.0 (Build 73) on Windows 11.

Hi @Zondervan123

Thank you for taking your time to file a bug report. Are you using a dual monitor setup on your system? and you have laid out some good details but to help us test this out some more the team just needs a little more information to begin troubleshooting. If you could just jump to the link here  How do I write a bug report and follow the steps to providing more information about your bug, we will gladly take a look.

Thank you

Ian

Are you on a laptop? Have you checked your Operating system resolution settings?

Not on a laptop, using a 1920x1080 display with no custom scaling.

Here's a larger screenshot for better context, showing the other panels in the window- you can see a non-stacked panel group on the left of the monitor panel and a stacked panel group on the right side with a copy of the same project open, showing the difference in behavior.Screenshot 2025-01-28 135011.png

Thank you @IanB_360! Here's the detailed information. I'd be happy to learn if this is only a problem on my system (I have not had time during my workflow to reset preferences or re-install software) but I suspect this is a UX issue.

  • Issue - Panel contents within stacked panel groups overflow the panel group, causing scrolling to behave unexpectedly.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number: 25.1.0 (Build 73)
  • Operating system - Windows 11 (Version 24H2, Build 26100.2894)
  • System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:
    • CPU: Intel i7-8700K 3.70GHz

    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080

    • GPU: driver 32.0.15.6094
    • RAM: 64GB DDR4

    • Boot Drive: Samsung NVMe SSD 980 PRO 500GB (internal M.2)

    • Cache Drive: Samsung SSD 860 EVO 2TB (internal SATA)
    • Storage Drive: Samsung PSSD T7 4TB (external USB 3.2)
    • Dual monitors; Premiere is only in one monitor and disabling Extended Displays does not impact issue
  • Video format: N/A, not related to media files
  • Workflow details: N/A, not related to media files
  • Steps to reproduce - (Very important!)
    • Set a panel's Group Settings to "Stacked Panel Group"
    • Other settings ("Solo Panels in Stack," etc) do not impact behavior
    • Behavior is most evident if the panel has a lot of content in it that requires scrolling, and in the Project Panel
    • Attempt functions in Project Panel like dragging items into "Create New Item" icon and creating a new bin at the top of the project contents while scrolled down to access the "Create New Bin" icon.
  • Expected result - The panel UI should have scaled to fit the group size, so that scrolling is contained within the panel, not the group. For panels like the Project Panel, this means that bottom UI elements like View options, "Create New Bin," "Create New Item," etc. should always be visible regardless of how much content is within the panel, similar to how non-stacked panel groups appear.
  • Actual result -  The panel expands to fit the content, overflowing the size of the panel group. This means that UI elements like those at the bottom of the Project Panel are inaccessible without scrolling, and functions like dragging items into the "Create New Item" icon to create a sequence, creating a new bin located outside the viewable panel window (when scrolled down) do not function properly.

Lorsque je fais clic droit dans la barre d'un panneau regroupant plusieurs fenêtres, puis "paramètres des groupes" et "groupes de panneaux empilés", je ne peux plus étirer les panneaux "couleur lumetry" et "projets".
