Parameters in Effects Controls panel unexpectedly revert to previous settings

This is a strange issue I've been experiencing for at least a couple months, I think. I edit in Premiere 30+ hours a week and this probably happens at least once a week, sometimes multiple times in a day.

I'll change a setting or multiple settings in the Effects Controls panel (usually scale or position). Then I will click out of the Effects Controls panel back to the timeline to play it back or move on to something else, and the settings I have just changed will have reverted back to what they were originally. This happens most frequently when editing parameters on MOGRTs, but also with vido clips and .pngs, and maybe other things. Saving the project in between making the edits and leaving the Effects Controls panel does not seem to keep the issue from happening.

It's been incredibly frustrating at times, because of the need to redo work, but moreso because it makes me nervous that I made edits and then they dissappeared and I didn't notice, and will slip up and overlook something as a result.

The reason I finally posted today is because something happened that was so strange it made me sure I wasn't crazy. I made edits to a MOGRT in the Effects Controls panel, and then cut the clip in the timeline. When I looked at it again, one the front half of the cut MOGRT had reverted to the original parameters, and the back half of the MOGRT had saved my changes! Any ideas what could be causing this???

I am running Premiere Version 23.1.0 (Build 86) on a 2021 MacBook Pro 16-inch M1 Max and macOS Monterey 12.1.
