Poor Playback and Inevitable Crash

Premiere Pro 25.1 (Latest)

Windows 10 - Desktop

Hey everyone,

This has been an ongoing issue but I have always figured it was a computer issue as these crashes always BSOD my computer rather than simply closing the app, however, as I've fixed the majority of my PC issues, it's now been Premiere Pro that has been crashing.

I'm not running any plugins or using effects.

The crash is caused by simply opening up a project with a moderate amount of files (roughly 30). These files are originally mp4 but I've converted them to proxies but still crash or the playback is horrible enough to see a crash is about to happen (roughly 2-3 second delay before playback begins).

I see you use Intel 13700 CPU.

This CPU can cause the strange problems you reported.

You can fix this by updating your bios of your motherboard.

(After that start with default settings)

Did you do this?

Did not do this due to fear of my computer honestly. My computer has gone through a lot for the past few years. This solution however did work, went ASUS bios 1656 to 1663. I did a minor stress test of what usually also caused crashes (scrubbing, having multiple clips in the timeline) and it seems to have fixed my issue. Thank you!
