Pr Pro 2024.6.8 Production clips missing from timeline, not offline media but mixing clips

Could this be a bug? when one of my clients opens a sequence from out Pr Pro Production, large gaps of missing clips are in the sequence, please see below the discription of what exactly is happening from my client. Anyone seen this? this would have been a disaster if the asssist didnt make a copy of the sequence.

"We had an issue today that we luckily were able to resolve but aren't sure what the cause was and it's pretty worrisome so wanted to bring it up. I think this was brought up in the adobe meeting as something that happened in the past (before my time) and it didn't seem like the adobe team knew what would have caused that to happen to my memory. Ernesto opened up his 105 project today and his master sequence was very bare / missing tons of boards / media. Luckily, I had a copy of this sequence in my own project, and my version was correct with no missing media. Brian opened up Ernesto's project to make sure he was seeing the same thing and it was confirmed that on his end he also saw a very bare sequence missing tons of media. Just to clarify when I say missing media - I don't mean media offline - I mean large empty sections in the timeline where media once lived. We created a brand new 105 project and brought over all the elements except this problem sequence. I then moved a copy of the correct sequence that I had to this project and we are now all good. We of course wish we knew what caused this. Each editor has their own way of working (of course) and the only thing that comes to mind (and we are really just guessing here) is how we file elements out of his master project into other projects when he is done working with these assets to keep the master project small. This workflow is not abnormal to how premiere productions works and I did this same workflow on my last show on premiere productions for 22 episodes and never had media disappear. Again, we aren't even sure if this is the culprit but we wanted to bring up what happened so it can be notated and possibly be something to bring up (again) at the next adobe meeting. In the meantime, we are reaching out to other premiere production friends to see if anyone has ever encountered this strange issue. Sorry for the long message"

This is Mac OS 15.7.1 on M2 Mac Studios using Avid Nexis shared storage. The project in Pr Pro is setup as a Production.

If the assets were 'housed' in another project, as is typical in Production mode, and the other project was then removed from the Production, then those clips would no longer appear in that Production. They are only referenced in the sequence project as from that other project file.
