Premier Pro 2025 Audio Cuts Out When Playing Thew Clips

New Here ,
Dec 04, 2025 Dec 04, 2025

Hello,

I am having a frustrating problem when I am listing the footage all of a sudden, the audio will cut out but the clip still plays if I stop and start again it will play audio for a second then drop out again. I have cleaned out my cache in the Premier and cleaned up my computer and still this persists. The only thing that seems to help is if I “rendered in and out” but this then can take a long time to render depending on how long the project is.

Hi @Brian Sevart

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums and sorry you've been experiencing issues. We need a few more details to help like exact Premiere Pro version you are on and hardware information. Please see How to Report a Problem

What type of files and source media are you working with and where are they stored? Are you using any specific effects on your clips or tracks?

How are you listening to your audio or are you using any bluetooth devices?

Sorry for the frustration,

Dani

Try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.
