it has been months and this issue is still a MAJOR problem with no answers from adobe can anyone help??

Updated premiere to version 23.2.0 (build 69and now when I try to render my computer just shuts offI know most people are quick to blame the hardware but my system is build for editing and the thermal read outs are well within operating rangedrivers are up to dateand i have 2 identical machines in my studio.The computer running the older version works just fine as im currently rendering a large project on itMy question is has anyone else run into this problem with the new version of premiereI'm using the same footage from the same source on both computers so it's not a corrupt file and the fact that the computer shuts off immediately after I click render makes me think this is software based. Computer specs below for reference.

Hello,

Premiere shouldn't be able to turn off your computer. Most likely Premiere is exposing a driver/hardware problem.

I'd reccomend looking through the Windows event log to identify the reason the machine rebooted:

If the event is a generic system lost power event, it means the motherboard powered off the machine. You can consult your specific motherboard documentation to understand whether it provides any logging

I know that Premiere shouldn't be able to shut off my computer but it does and only when rendering. not After Effects or Audition just premier. I check windows log event after every crash but it shows no errors and I had the manufacturers of the machine run a ram check and every other things they could think of but still the problem presists. I even swapped out power supplies thinking it might be power issues but it still shuts down.

Some other suggestions to try

  • Install 23.2 on the non-crashing system to isolate whether the issue is system specific, or app version specific.
  • Swap hardware components from the passing system to the failing system to isolate what might be causing the issue.
  • Try removing one of the nVidia GPUs to check whether the combination of 2 GPUs is exposing this problem

I'd also still recommend consulting your motherboard documentation to check whether it can provide any insight as to why the system powered off. Often times, there will be an error log/code available in the bios that points to the reason for a power event.

@ericw21451473 Which model of Mac and what OS are you running?

Is it possible your machine is overheating?

You might be able to get additional information about the system reboot from the Mac OS Console app. Look for system crash logs or through the current system boot log to get more info about why the previous shutdown occurred.
