Premiere Pro changes (distorts) audio

Community Beginner ,
Apr 24, 2025 Apr 24, 2025

while importing my video to premiere pro, in a viewport there is some kind of bug: audio sounds awfully, it is distorted, not only the quality of the sound, but the sound itself is changed too. For example, i've had an audio with 6 rythmic clock hits, but when i imported it into Premiere Pro, the sound changed and there were only 3 hits.

i've tried different audio preferences, but nothing has helped. exporting (using media encoder) also haven't resulted anything positive: the sound remained awful. as i noticed, After Effects faces the same issue. what can i do to solve it?

workiing on macbook m4 pro 24 gb

Hi @yuriy_5849

what type of camera file were you importing? Would you be able to provide us with one of the files that is reflecting the scenario you laid out in your post?

Thank you

Ian

Make sure Default Input in the Audio Hardware in the Preferences is set to No Input.

Hi ! Thanks for reading this and sorry for my broken english.

I have a massive problem : when I import good audios on Ppro, during the playback, I have horrible hissing on the audio. Only on Pro. The audio is good on VLC. The audio is good if I export the sound and play it on VLC.

I already deleted the media cash and desinstall everything, make new project...

I don't know what to do next.

The problem is with every speakers : wireheadset, speakers, computer speakers. Maybe it's the settings computer but I check that "windows sonic" isn't active.

I'm working with a Razor Blade on windows.

I checked the pilots : everything is on update.

My project's expected the 12th may. This is bad.

Hi ! Thanks for your attention about this issue.

Sorry, I left behind me this post because a friend suggest a tip wich actually fixed the problem.

So what I did :

I took all the sounds in Ppro and convert them (from Ppro to Media Encoder !) from 96000 htz to 48000 htz. Then I reimported in Ppro. It worked. I don't understand why the 96000 htz caused for the first time an issue. I don't understand why it worked in 48000 htz but I'm relieved.

My project settings was right, camera settings too. I've been working like this for ages so I really don't know what was the problem with the sounds.

Hope that help if someone face the same thing 🙂
