Premiere Pro Glitch: Unable to Resize Tracks

Community Beginner ,
Mar 08, 2025 Mar 08, 2025

Dear all,

This is the second time I have encountered the following bug in Adobe Premiere.

After adding effects to my Audio Track Mixer, when I continue editing on my timeline and modify or resize the audio sections, the program starts glitching. I am unable to adjust, expand, or shrink the audio tracks properly, and the software becomes unresponsive. Shortly after, I receive an error message: "Invalid Type Conversion."

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? My PC is running Windows 11 (Alienware Aurora R15).

I have attached a video demonstrating the issue. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @asmrlanasalturas  and welcome to the Premiere Pro Forum community.  Thank you for taking your time to file a bug report. Have you been able to check out what @Ann Bens has mentioned? Are you using 3rd party plugins on the audio tracks? And if you are using the 3rd party plugins did you get a chance to disable them and see if the same thing is happening when sizing the tracks? It would also be helpful if you could jump to the link here  How do I write a bug report and follow the steps to outl

Are you using plugins? If so, does the issue occur when disabling the plugins?

Hi @IanB_360 and @Ann Bens ,

Thank you both for your support and for taking the time to assist me.

Yes, I am using Waves VST plugins, but I have been using the same effect for over three years, and this issue has never occurred before. If I try to disable the effect, Premiere freezes, displays an error message, and prompts me to send a crash report.

I will check the link you shared.

For now, the only way I have found to continue editing is by opening an auto-save file, which remains intact without the bug. I only apply the effects after adjusting the timeline the way I want. However, I am very concerned that any action in the timeline might trigger the bug and corrupt the file.

Thanks again for your guidance and support!

Best,
