Premiere Pro Preference setting files corrupting quickly

I'm finding myself having to delete & reset my preferences multiple times a day because various functions stop working at random (such as the marker and text windows stop showing their respective contents; other function buttons such as go to next edit point stop working etc), resetting my system preferences resolves these issues, but I'm resetting my preference up to five times a day.

The main project that I'm editing is a productions project, with edits in one project, and source clips as multicams in other projects (source media is separated by day). I've only been working in this productions project for a couple of weeks, so it's fairly new.

Any suggestions on why my preferences appear to keep corrupting, and ways to avoid this corruption?

Do you have any third party effects installed?

Do you have any optimization software installed?

I do have a 5 third party extensions - I've removed a couple using the creative cloud app, but can't remove a couple of the others (that weren't managed via creative cloud).

Otherwise, no optimization software installed.

To start Adobe Premiere Pro without loading plugins, hold down the Shift key while launching the application. This brings up the "Reset Options" menu, where you can choose to disable third-party plugins temporarily.
Step-by-step instructions
  • Ensure that Premiere Pro is completely closed.
  • Press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard.
  • While still holding Shift, launch Adobe Premiere Pro.
    • Windows: Find the application icon and double-click it.
    • macOS: Locate the application icon and double-click it.
  • Continue holding the key until the "Reset Options" dialog box appears.
  • In the dialog box, check the option for Disable third-party plugins.
  • Click Continue.

Premiere Pro will now launch with only its default plugins, which can help you troubleshoot issues like startup crashes caused by a corrupted or incompatible third-party plugin.

Thanks, I'm familiar with disabling plug ins while starting Premiere Pro; the problem is deleting plug ins that weren't installed via creative cloud
