VIDEO_DR_FAILURE from editing 4k in Premiere Pro

Community Beginner ,
May 12, 2025 May 12, 2025

What failed: igdkmdnd64.sys

Specs:

Premiere Pro 25.2.3

windows 11

intel i5-12400f

16gb ram

intel arc b580

editing on SSD

My pc is crashing consistently when editing 4K 8 bit footage in Premiere. Does not crash otherwise but is extremely disturbing to my workflow, Whilst not the strongest machine, the build should be able to handle this footage in the small timeline that it is.

So far i have ensured i’m updated to the newest graphics drivers, checked my GPU temp at the time of crash (47 celsius) and reinstalled Premiere, Not sure what to try next HELP PLEASE!!!

Note: i’ve seen online that igdkmdnd64.sys can typically be iGPU related, though my cpu lacks integrated graphics, mabye some correlation? just speculating as i am a novice

Hello @Zachary36784607efk3,

Thanks for the message. Welcome to the forums.  I agree with Peru Bob about giving proxies a try.  That should hopefully resolve the problem.  When it crashes, does it give you the option to send a report to Adobe when you restart?  Are you able to send the .dmp file from when the crash happened?  Your issue seems hardware-related, but hopefully, the proxy fix will get you working again.
