Hi All,

I've seen this question asked in previous discussions, but it was never answered. I am exporting Prores 4444, no effects, raw footage and some of my clips are exporting upside down. Everything is normal in the timeline and preview. I've cleared my cache to troubleshoot but no difference. Everything is fine when exporting h.264.

Hi bmartin219

If you take this exact same file provided and place it in a brand new project and you keep the embedded AMIRA LUT on you can export Apple Pro Res 4444 without any issues.

However if you turn the embedded camera LUT off and modify clip to have none then the clip will export incorrectly and upside down. So you have to apply an Effect of Vertical Flip if you want the Embedded AMIRA LUT turned off and make sure on the export page that Tone mapping is checked under the effects. Then yo

Hi Kate,

Sorry for the issue. Could you share your source file properties with us (codec, frame size, frame rate)? You can find these details by going to Project panel > Right-click on media > Properties. Please also let us know if these files were recorded from a camera or is it a screen recording.

Thanks,

Ishan

Sorry for the issue! I appreciate you sharing all the details. Are you using Mercury Transmit to preview your project? Will it be possible for you to share a sample project and source file through private message so I can reproduce this issue on my end?

Im not sure if I'm using Mercury Transmit - when i go to change the Renderer it is greyed out. I'm assuming because I'm on an M1 Mac?

Yeah I can totally send you the proj file and media.

I've replied to you! You can turn off Mercury Transmit by going to Premiere Pro > Preferences > Playback > Uncheck Enable Mercury Transmit. If the option was enabled, please try exporting again with it unchecked and let us know if that makes a difference.

Ok. Toggling Mercury Transmit makes no difference, but for some reason turning on my Adjustment Layer with a Lut on it does. Perhaps it has to do with preview or cache.

Thanks for trying. Do you only see this issue with this specific clip in your project? If so, select the clip, go to the Lumetri Color panel (Window > Lumetri Color), and uncheck all fields like Basic Correction, Creative, etc. Try exporting again, and let us know if that makes a difference.

That just worked - but this is super weird. There was no effects on the video at all, so i had to apply the lumetri effect, then uncheck every category, and it seems to export as normal.

That's odd. Is this the only clip with the issue, or were there other clips in the sequence with the same problem? I noticed that you also added a "Vertical Flip" effect to the clip, which was toggled off. Did you add it after you experienced the issue?

I'm trying to find a way to replicate this issue in a new project. If there are any steps you can share, that will be helpful. Thanks for sticking with me and being so patient!

Yeah, I tried Vertical Flip while troubleshooting. I tried flipping the image on the timeline thinking maybe it would flip the image back upon export, but it didn't it always just came out upside down.

It wasn't the only clip that was flipped, just one of the few. A lot of the other clips exported normal, but there was nothing that I know of that was different about this one. It wasn't high frame rate, or a different aspect ratio.. It wasn't flipped because of 'low-mode' on steadi cam.

So I'm not sure what's going on. It was next to an EXR file - would that mess it up?

Thanks for sharing the details! I couldn't find out what triggered this, but I have shared your files with the engineering team. They will investigate this issue soon. Meanwhile, I'm moving this thread to the Bugs section of the Premiere Pro community.

It has something to do with the Embedded Camera LUT.
