I am having issues making my 608 captions be closed captions vs. open captions. I used the audio transcription function, turn them into 608 captions, but no where do I see how to make them closed captioned. The captions are displayed on the Program Monitor, but the gear icon does not have a "Closed Captions Display" option that online searches recommend to change. When I export the video, the captions are burned in as open captions or subtitles. I need the captions to be embedded in the file, but not displayed as open captions. I do not want the captions exported as a sidecar.
Any recommendations?

The display option no longer applies since the revised caption workflow 2021.
You can embed in mov and mxf op1a. In export settings, set to embed.
