Adding Audio to projects causes PR to freeze/crash

Is anyone having any issues with adding audio tracks (tried mp3 and wav) to their projects and PR crashes?

I have no issue running PR until I am adding the audio track. All of the tabs and functions work, until I drag and drop the audio file that I want to use into my project. Then everything is frozen, I cant click on anything and the sliders or tabs no longer work. BUT then when I remove the audio file from my project PR resumes back to normal and I have full use.

Note, I tried deleting all caches that I read about in another page.

No, none at all. So that gets us to some typical troubleshooting queries:

Is it the one file? Or do different files from different sources behave the same?

Does it do this in other projects, or just this one?

UPDATE. Now I cannot add two video files without PR freezing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, tried different files, started a new project but the same issue everytime i add the music or a file with audio.

Is there an issue with settings on a graphic card?

Time for some details ... what's your system, full details: OS/CPU/GPU; do you have a sound card or just system sound; have you added any codec packages; and full details on the media involved, what created it included.
