I am using a ryzen 5 3600 6 core CPU with 16gb of ram running at 3200mhz along with a nvidia 2060 super with up to date graphics drivers.

Welcome back! 🙂

Is there mashing in that small picture above? I'm not sure what that is, it looks like a football field? And I'm not sure even the pixelation from the picture. With the timeline panel selected, check the Sequence settings from the Sequence menu up top. It should be full HD 1920x1080, just like your clip.

Also, your clip is variable frame rate (VFR) which is not good for editing and can cause some problems. I'm not sure if it is what you are seeing. Use Shutter Encoder to convert the files (before editing) to constant frame rate. Maybe try ProRes LT or even ProRes PROXY format within Shutter Encoder for easy to edit formats with 'better' files size.

Thank you very much, it seems like it was the variable frame rate which was causing the issue. I used handbrake to convert to see and it looks alot smoother now. Thanks for you help 🙂
