Adobe Premier slow and glitchy

Hey you guys, I have 64 gigabytes of ram an I have allocated as much as I possibly can to Adobe premiere, which is over 50 gigabytes, but when I am editing it still legs so much and it's quite frustrating and really making things take quite longer.

I understand I am using multiple effects and such but is there a way to prevent this from happening? Am I missing a setting or something?

Need more details. Mac or PC? Editing on interal or external drive? Device specs? Footage specs?
