Intel 13700k, 32 gb of ram, 3080 ti / 12 gb vram. There is always at least 9 gigabytes of free ram throughout this process.
Premiere looks like it loads, and I can scrub through the timeline but the video preview does not play back, eventually it freezes entirely, while writing upto 100 gigabytes to the windows pagefile. Peviously, I had 70 gigs free, but that would fill right up... if I did not free up space on the drive, the project never loads.
Again, I can pick a location on the timeline, but the video preview does not move to that location. I wait longer. It takes around 15-20 minutes for adobe to eventually try locate all the fonts; what normally took 15-20 seconds... if it does not crash by then I eventually can scrub the timeline with media previews working... it will also crash often while in program, forcing me to go through it all over again.
Once its functional the page file drops to around 20 gb.
Project has been in the making for 3 years. It used to load in 30 seconds or so in premiere 2021, 2022. And although the project hasn't changed much in that time, I haven't been able to work on this for around a year due to bugs making Premiere 2023-2024 unusable. Project file is large, 24 mb; timeline is 8 hours.
Before you ask, yes, I deleted the media cache. All files and cache are on SSDs. I've also copied and pasted the entire timeline into a new project, that did not solve the problem.
What can we do? BDS?
