Adobe Premiere 23.6.2 crashed and NONE of the versions of Premiere will open

Premiere crashes sometimes when I am exporting and I have too many youtube windows open, or maybe it is when I have speed ramping of audio... I don't know but I was exporting videos yesterday, and the entire computer crashed.

When it restarted, the Menu bar at the top didn't have the clock, or anything except Creative Cloud, and Time Machine. I simply restored from Time Machine... and everything seems ok. Premiere worked... and eventually I tried to go back to exporting a video with no other apps running and the computer crashed halfway through. Same results. clock is gone, displays, etc...

Everything else works fine... I can open Photoshop and different apps... but I can't open Premiere. I have gone to previous versions of Premiere and it still gets hung up and never opens.

This has happened before. (I probably posted before but adobe wanted me to make a new user name for some reason... I had a few helpful posts like 20 years ago about closed captioning but now it is all auto). I think the solution for this happening was unnstalling Creative Cloud... but it says I have to uninstall all the apps... I think I did this before... this is stupid. I got a lot of work to do on a deadline. I am considering buying a new computer because I need to get this work done but I think this is all software related because this has happened before a year or two ago.

Safe Mode makes the icons in the menu bar appear but I can't click on them. I tried completely restoring my OS also. The only other thing is uninstalling and reinstalling all my adobe apps.

Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!

Mac Pro Late 2013

Processor 3.7 GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon E5

64 GB 1866 MHz DDR3

I included a screen shot of the menu area. I don't know what else I can give to help.

Ok... I solved it.

I completely deleted Creative Cloud and Premiere. Then a few days later of using my computer without the Command Center, it just suddenly appeared again.

Then I downloaded Creative Cloud again, installed Premiere 23.6.2... and everything seems to work fine... except one video I was exporting. I changed the speed of one clip and then I tried to change it back to 100 but it was messing up... like when I start to type in "100" it would go to 1.666666666 and no

Hello Chris,

>...I was exporting videos yesterday, and the entire computer crashed.

Did you submit a crash report?

> When it restarted, the Menu bar at the top didn't have the clock, or anything except Creative Cloud, and Time Machine.

That's pretty scary, and suggestive of OS-level issues.

> I can't open Premiere. I have gone to previous versions of Premiere and it still gets hung up and never opens.

What has changed about your system since PPro did launch? [Again, I'm concerned that if the Menu bar isn't displaying correctly, that the OS is having troubles, which PPro may not be able to overcome...]

- did I submit a crash report?

I am not sure it asked... I did each time it asked me to. It doesn't ask when Premiere failed to open or crash. It just never opens.

I was able to open Photoshop and that seemed to work but it got hung up when closing. I am able to use most of my other software just fine.

- Suggestive of an OS issue -

yeah maybe. I think this happened before though... a few years ago and it just corrected itself after a week. In that case I had to completely delete Creative Cloud then reinstall it. Not sure what happened there or why the clock and stuff in the menu bar reappeared. But Premiere seemed to crash my entire computer when exporting when the project is a bit complex and I am watching YouTube videos and a Crunchyroll video. I assume this was the problem. The sound just starts skipping and then the computer restarts.

-what has changed since Premeire opened?

nothing. I tried recovering with Time Machine and that worked up until I tried to export in Premiere again, then it crashed the entire computer again, but it was the only program running. I updated the OS, I reinstalled the OS, then uninstalling premiere and went to previous versions... none of it seemed to work. So I deleted and uninstalled all adobe creative cloud stuff.

I think it is the latest version of Monterey for the intel processor. I can take it to the Genius Bar sometime next week but sometimes they are not always accurate... in one case they replaced the entire motherboard and that didn't fix the problem when it was the wire going to a hard drive. Oh well...

I changed the speed of one clip and then I tried to change it back to 100 but it was messing up... like when I start to type in "100" it would go to 1.666666666 and not let me type anything... but I copied and pasted 100 in there and it seemed to work... but this video does not export. I believe this issue with the speed change of a clip is causing premiere and my computer to crash when I try to export it. I can export other clips. At least now I know what the issue is...

(I tried it on a different computer with a different version of Premiere... 24.1... and I was able to export it.)
