Adobe Premiere Crashing - Cannot Load Third-Party Audio Plug-Ins

  • Issue - When I load up Adobe Premiere, I get a notification that I'm unable to load third-party audio plug-ins. Then, I'm opened up to the main page of Adobe Premiere. When I try to open ANY file or start a new project, the program immediately stops responding and I have to force quit it. I have gone through my files and clicked permissions on in Application Support files, uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and tried to reset the preferences cache.  
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number: Version 25.0 (Build 61) 
  • Operating system - macOS Sequoia 15.01 
  • System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD: 
    • CPU Apple M1

    • GPU (Intel-based Macs and PCs)

    • GPU driver (PC)
    • RAM Memory is 16 GB 

    • Hard Drive Macintosh HD (69 GB free of storage) 

  • Video format: I have been using regular mp4 files for importing and editing. 
  • Workflow details: It's any project or file. 
  • Steps to reproduce - (Very important!) 1. Open up Adobe Premiere 2. Attempt to click new project or open an existing project 3. Immediate crash/freeze 
  • Expected result - Opening up any project file
  • Actual result -  Crashing and freezing

Hi @Bianca31955062tgpq - Can you try the steps below:

On your macOS desktop hold down the "Option" key and select Go from the menu bar, you will then see a folder labeled "Library"

After Selecting Library navigate to Preferences > Adobe > Premiere Pro and then delete the folder 25.0.

 

Open Premiere Pro and let us know if that helps your issue.

That could be the issue.

There may not be enough free hard drive space for Premiere Pro to work properly.

I tried your solution @jamieclarke and it gave me the following error: 

 

Initialization Failure 

 

The directory '/Users/[myuser]/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Premiere Pro/25.0' could not be created. Please check the validity of the directory path or parent directory protection or permission rights. 

 

Following @Peru Bob 's note, I also cleared up about 100 gb of space, so now I have 100 GB of space to work with on my laptop. 

 

Now when I open it up, it gives me that error above.

I checked and I had the permissions already set to "Read and Write." I'm still getting this error:

Hi @Bianca31955062tgpq - Can you select the 25.0, and Premiere Pro folder, then right click and select get info.  Can you post a screenshot for us.  It sounds like some folder in the chain doesn't have permissions or is possibly locked.

In the sharing and permission section it should say <User> (Me) read and write
