Adobe premiere pro 21 keeps crashing

Hi,

I am trying to edit a video, and after playing it back for 2 minutes or so the video component keeps freezing. The audio continues to play, but the video itself stops. Then, I can't really navigate around it, and I have to shut down the program entirely. I've tried resetting the preferences, clearing the media cache, and uninstalling/reinstalling the app. Nothing so far has fixed it. This video plays fine in Windows Media Player, so it should be an issue with the file itself. Any suggestions?

Many users are having issues with VFR. If the file is variable frame rate, use Hand brake to convert to constant frame rate:

Also:

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).

Hi,

I've tried all of these tips and the video playback is still freezing after playing for about 2 minutes. Are there any other suggestions?

Hi there!

Sorry about that. Can you share your system details (OS, CPU, RAM, GPU)? What's the source of the footage?

Let us know. Thanks

Kartika

Sorry, footage source is a .mp4 file, recording taken via Zoom. I also tried converting it to M4V file which didn't work. I have several recordings taken from Zoom, all are presenting the same problem.

It now seems I'm having a similar problem using Adobe Rush as well. Could this be a hardware issue?

Any further suggestions? I have yet to be able to identify the source of the issue. It seems other folks are having this problem as well.
