Hey all,
If I could have some help with this, it would be wonderful. Recently updated my Adobe software and now the dynamic link in PP has decided to be moody. I've had the program crash 10+ times and currently cannot get the sequence containing the linked comp to update or render. Have trashed preferences in PP but the problem has cropped up again.
I have made an entirely new project in PP, imported the AE comp and then copied in my sounds with no luck.
My mac specs are:
macOS Big Sur 11.4
iMac Retina 5k 2020
RAM: 72GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon Pro 5700 16GB
I have ~400gb free on my Mac where my media cache goes for AE (currently set between 200-300gb depnding on the day, I also empty it daily). The AE project and PP project + scratch are on an external 2tb SSD with 1tb of free space.
Am quite frustrated as this has been affecting client deadlines for two weeks. I am beginning to feel that Adobe's functionality is becoming too unreliable to justify the cost.
Any help would be appreciated!
Emma

Both Premiere Pro and After Effects do not like external drives.
It is always better and recommended by Adobe Professionals to
edit and create motion graphics on local drives and keep external drives
for backups only. Make sure both PP and AE are updated to the latest builds.
Try to create copies of your projects on your local drive, or use the
collect files features on both software to copy everything to your local drive,
eject your external and don't use it except for backups, especially when you
have deadlines and "nagging" clients.
