Anchor Point Problems

Hey everyone,

I really could use some help before I break my laptop XD. When I create text in Premier Pro, the anchor is on the top left by default when it used to always be in the centre. It's been doing it for the last couple of weeks. Graphics on the other hand have the anchor point in the centre with no problem. When I try to scale the text I have created, instead of it just growing in size it also changes X & Y axis a lot and the anchor point is way off.

I would be forever grateful for any tips or advice. Is there a default anchor point option or have I mistakenly changed something?

No information whatsoever.

Screenshots would help (and please do not post little sections but entire panels).

Carl,

This is actually trickier than it appears. There are 3 anchor points for text: Video, Vector Motion, and Text. The actual TEXT anchor points are not in the center by default. And if you center them and then scale using Video or Vector Motion, they still won't scale around the center.

If you create "Point" text by clicking with the Text tool and typing, the Text/Transform “position” is the bottom left of the TEXT, not the bounding box - and the Anchor Point is the same bottom left, but its number is zero, zero - an adjustment from position, not a position within the frame. If you create "Paragraph" text by clicking and dragging the bounding box before typing, the Text/Transform “position” is the left/TOP position of the bounding box. The Anchor Point is the same position but with the zero, zero adjustment.

As Ann says, screenshots will help and we need to see the Effects Controls, Essential Graphics Panel, Program Monitor, and timeline.
