Arabic Open Captions when line is empty

Hi,

There is an annoyning bug with Arabic Open Captions with Premiere 2022.2 when the line is empty (without text) there is a symbol shows insted.

Any way of fixing this without going through all the timeline and check?

Use a different font, no all fonts are caption proof.

What is the font?

Curious: why do you need an empty caption? This can cause a variety of other problems.

The font is custom made for the studio I work in.

I don't want empty captions at all, sometimes the .srt files comes with empty lines and it take time to go through the subtitle to troubleshoot if there is a problem.

But if Adobe Premiere leave the empty caption without showing any symbol that would be great.

I would next try some code to figure out what that odd character is.

I cannot find a way to avoid PR putting the default information for a blank caption or one with only a space: in the text panel it says <Type your caption here> and displays a default character that is not in my character set (plain box for me; box with X for you). In Notepad++, there is no character. PR is adding this.

Still thinking about this....

I would use something like Subtitle Edit to remove the empty lines.

This is what I do now, removing the empty lines manually.

Hope this will be fixed in future updates.
