I am setting up a large multilingual project and trying to establish a logical workflow for it. I have interviews in various languages, each with an associated English SRT file. Is it not possible to attach the subtitles to the source clips themselves so that I can use them in various timelines while retaining the synced English subtitles?
Interestingly, I can add the SRT files to my multicam clips (because I can open them in the timeline) - although Premiere seems to be thinking of the subtitles as a second camera, which is ridiculous - but for single-camera clips, I'm getting nowhere. I cannot possibly be the first person who's needed this, so I have to be missing something, right? Please tell me I'm missing something.
I suppose there's a world where I treat my single-camera clip and its SRT file as a multicam clip, but that seems silly. Is there a way to make this work? Seems like a need a lot of people are likely to have.
