I've never had this problem before, it's only recently that audio drops out and crackles during playback in Premiere Pro. I have not ecountered this in other programs like After Effects, and it happens randomly. Sometimes several times in a short sucession. The meter stays the same level whenever it happens.
I've tried the following:
-Clearing Media Cache
-Selecting the Default Input as No Input
-Changing my playback samplerate
-Changing the latency
None of these solutions seem to work at all. I am not sure if anyone has had this problem before.

Hi @BamboozledKid262157147z63,
Thanks for the info. What kind of footage are you working with? Have you tried matching the sample rate of the clip to the Sequence Settings? If that doesn't work, paste the clips into a new sequence. Does that help? Let us know.
Thanks,
Kevin

It happens regardless if there's footage on the timeline. I also encounter the problem on projects where I never had the problem before.

Hi @BamboozledKid262157147z63,
Well, that's kind of weird. Might it be hardware related? Do you have the latest audio and video drivers (studio version) installed? Is Windows updated?
On the software side, have you tried deleting media cache? Press Shift at launch for the Reset Options. Delete media cache. If you don't mind losing certain customization, you can also reset preferences. Try these things and let us know if that helps.
Sorry for the hassle.
Thanks,
Kevin

Windows is up to date, latest drivers are installed, and as I said previously clearing the media cache did not work either.

HI @BamboozledKid262157147z63,
Try copy/pasting the material into a new sequence. Make sure the sample rate matches that of your clips. See if that helps.
Thanks,
Kevin

Sorry about that, @BamboozledKid262157147z63,
Are you running the studio driver or the game ready driver for the GPU. If they have the game ready driver installed, please try the studio driver.
Thanks,
Kevin

I updated to the latest Windows update and Nvidia Studio Driver, and it didn't fix it.
