Not sure what to make of this. I edited a 1 min corp video with VO. It was recorded 44100hz Mono. When I brought into bin, I wen to Modify - changed to stereo and checked both L and R channels. Sounds just fine in PP. When I export as mp4, it sounds a bit distant and tinny. Is this because the trackes were recorded in Mono and I am playing the export on stero speakers? Would love to have the exported master to sound like it does when scrubbing timeline.

How does it sound if you export only a WAV-file?

If the VO is mono there is no need/gain/benefit to modify it to stereo. A mono file placed on the timeline will playback by default in the left and right channel.
