Windows 10 premiere 2024 v24.0.3.
Playback audio was fine. Saved project as usual, closed premiere as usual, shut the pc down as usual. Came back later as usual, turned the pc on as usual, opened premiere as usual, opened the project as usual, all like I've done a dozen times this week.
For some reason, this time, the first few clips on audio track 2 no longer have sound on playback. To be clear, the clips are all from the same audio file on the same track. It's one wav file that I edited. A section of the first cuts just stopped playing back sound.
They still have sound in the monitor, but the only time they have sound in the timeline is if I solo the track. The sound disappears from that section again as soon as I turn solo off. When I export the video, the sound is still missing there.
Since it plays fine when solo'd, I tried deleting audio track 1 (just the clip in it, not the track itself) and the problem went away.
I've tried...
Nothing worked except deleting the audio from the other track. Not the entire thing. Just from the part that lined up with the clips with sound problems. It would be a nightmare to have to re-edit that entire section of track 2 just because premiere is buggy. Deleting the audio from track 1 there and sliding over some other section from it to blend it in was the lesser of two evils.
Can someone, preferably an employee, at least offer a suggestion as to why/how one audio track could cause part of another audio track to not play sound out of the blue for future reference? Or is it just a random bug, plain and simple?
I'm not posting screenshots because I've already gone through my interface and all of my settings for an hour turning things off and on, starting and restarting, and I want to avoid "well I see that thing is set to this, did you try NOT setting it to that?" The answer is yes. Thanks!
