Both these issued I have encountered in other places I freelance as well with the laest version of Premiere Pro. When I imported an MTS file of a concert and dropped into a sequence to begin editing:
1) The audio waveform appears and disappears randomly;
2)The bigger problem, wthe audio would stop playback. I restarted Premiere and the audio returned, but midway through editing, the audio stopped playing back. The audio is there because I exported a snippet as an MP3 and the audio played back fine.
If anyone in Adobe is reading this...is this a bug that's been reported?

Hi there!
Sorry about the trouble. Are you getting this issue on particularly MTS files? Which OS do you have?
Have you tried resetting preferences?
Let us know.
Thanks,
Kartika

Reset preferences...no luck. Same issue.

It's tough to edit MTS files if the audio does not play back....most of the times you don't even see the waveform and even when you do (that happens randomly) still there is no sound. Then, suddenly, it comes on. The workaround I discovered was going into MEDIA ENCONDER and converting the file to an MP4 or QT... but that is not a good option in LIVE TV when turnaround times are tight. Hopefully the smart people at Adobe can figure this out...
