Hi every one,
Please Help !
I'm beggining on Premiere. I need to make a slideshow movie for my parents wedding anniversary...
I'm running on Mac-mini (2,5GhZ intel core i5, 16Go Ram), Catalina.
As soon as i import my first pics et create a new sequence with it, my computer is running extremly low. Impossible get further...
Most of my source media are pictures from pictures that i shot with a good camera. Definition is 5184x3888.
It seems its too big for my computer, because it works better with lower definition pictures...
I'm more use to sound editing usually, so i'm really surprise that my computer isnt good enough for such a simple task...
Do I really need to resize all my media before opening them in Premiere ?
Thanks in advance for your help
Louis

Yes.
Even with a more powerful computer, it might be necessary.

Let's see... 2,5GhZ intel core i5, 16Go Ram?
Duplicate your 5184x3888 images in the Finder, open the copies in Photoshop, and change the Image Size to 2160x1620 or 1920x1440, but no larger than 2560x1920 if you want some extra room to push in.
In Premiere Pro, create a custom 1920x1080 Sequence that uses QuickTime Apple ProRes 422 LT for the Video Previews at 23.976. If you happend to be creating a MP4 for playback from a USB stick on a TV, go with 29.97 instead.
Set the Playback Resolution to 1/2 if not already set to that.
You should be good to go.

thank you very much Warren for all the infos !!! Very much appreciated 😉
At the end playback will be from a USB stick on a computer to a video projector.
Shall i choose 29,97 framrate then ?

If playing from a computer, 23.976 ot 29.97 should be fine.
I’d go with 23.976 (also shows as 23.98) as you’re asking your computer to process 6 fewer frames per second.

What is your sequence size?
What settings will you be using for export?
How will the slideshow be viewed?

Hi Bob, thanks for your reply.
For now i dont have any sequence size, as i havent started any editing... i was just trying to import my first media in the Premiere project.
I dont know at all about the export setting, i would say the more simple in order to, at the end, play the movie from a USB stick on a computer to a video projector.
