Best way to deal with mic bleed, two lav mics interview.

I am looking for the best way to avoid bleed from one mic to another in a two person sit down interview.  Each mic is in a separate channel and I am having to go in and reduce the level on the person not talking to avoid phase problems.  There has to be a better way?  The mics used are Omni directional  lavs.  When both mics are up, hollow sound.

Thanks,

David

This indicates that they are out of phase with each other and can happen if they are placed apart from each other. If they are placed on the timeline as two individual mono tracks one can get away by setting the timeline to Show Audio Time Units and unlink them from the video. Then it is possible to move one of them slightly to help with the phase issue by using the wave forms. The less room echo present the better it is.

Can you post a short sound sample with the two audio channels?

align waveforms to be in phase to help with hollow sounds.

as for the actual mic bleed,  do a side chain compression debleed or rx 9 de-bleed plugin.

Do you know of any  "How To" videos that demonstrate how this can be done?
