Black screen premiere pro during editing

Hi. I have seen similar help requests for this problem but no solutions have worked for me.

When I have been editing in Premiere since version 23.2, the program monitor goes black extremely often. Audio will still play, it won't crash or anything - this is during the editing process not just playback.

Often I can't see the footage in the program monitor and my workaround has been to Ctrl+A, move everything up on the timeline, and then move it back down to kind of refresh it.

This is my full time job so it's not a great solution and i'd like to know how to fix this. My graphics settings are up to date and I have never had an issue with Adobe before so unsure of what to do. I've tried changing playback settings, uninstalling and re-installing, using an older version ( but encounter other issues since it's outdated ) and multiple other things found on Google.

If anyone has any ideas on how to help it would be greatly appreciated, I keep hoping new updates for my graphics or Adobe will help but it never does. I don't get any issues in any other program on my computer, here are the specifications:

Graphics: AMD Ryzen 7 4700U with Radeon Graphics

System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

16gb ram, latest version of windows and creative cloud
