Hello dear Adobe Community,

i have a problem with Premiere Pro.

As soon as I open Premiere Pro and drag videos into the timeline,

the program monitor goes black (see picture).  Unfortunately I haven't found a way

to fix this problem since yesterday, so I decided me to contact the community in the hope that someone can help me.

i tried to change the renderer but it doesnt work

Are you using multiple monitors?

Also try changing your zoom to 100% and your resolution to Full or 1/2.

Your solution will almost certainly be somewhere in the way your monitors interact with your graphics driver, your graphics driver settings, your graphics driver version, Pr's preferences, and/or your project settings.

  1. Go to Premiere top bar and -> FILE
  2. Project Settings -> General
  3. Change the “Renderer” to -> the default option which is the “Mercury Playback Engine Software Only” or other option (that you might have)

if now it is working

delete your video drivers with https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html in safe mode

than instal new drivers.

You dont need to install an uninstaller program.

Go to Nvidia and download their studio driver.

ddu will completly unistal drivers, which regular unistal program from nvidia dont do that. If there are problems with video, it is recomended to use ddu. This is how you are sure everything is clean. Also it recomended to download new drivers before the unistal the old ones, because when you rebot the computer after the ddu proces in safe mode, you need to disable internet, this is how you prevented windows to instal generic drivers for your gpu. After instalation of new drivers, you can turn on the network.

If you see a black or blank screen after an update and Windows  was operating correctly before that, it's possible the display adapter driver is causing the screen issue.

To roll back the display adapter driver:

  1. Sign in to Windows  using safe mode  (you'll need to go to the section called “From a black or blank screen”).

  2. Type device manager in the search box on the taskbar and select it from the results.

  3. Find Display adapters, select the arrow to expand it, then right-click the item under it and select Properties.

  4. Select the Driver tab, then select Roll Back Driver > Yes

  5. Shut down your device, then turn your device back on.

If you’re still seeing a black or blank screen, try the steps in Action 4 to uninstall your display adapter driver.
