blurred photos

Hello, I'm having a problem with Premiere Pro. I'm doing an animation project and I don't understand why my photos appear blurry when I put them in the timeline. When I drag/drop them and reduce their size on the screen, they automatically become pixelated.

thank you for your answers!

What are the sequence pixel dimensions?

What are the image pixel dimensions?

How are you reducing the size?

Are you viewing at full resolution in the Program Monitor?

Give this a try and see if it changes anything.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Media.

There should be an option called "Default Media Scaling". Select "Set to Frame Size". This will ensure that any image you throw on the timeline, is set to the correct scaling option. However, the images in your current timeline will need to be changed as well.

Now right-click your clip and select "Set to Frame Size". Start scaling it however you want.

Little bit of info (just the tip of the iceberg):

"Scale to Frame Size" rasterizes/resamples the image and sets the Scale in Effect Controls to 100%. Once you start zooming in you'll lose resolution, because the image is being scaled to more than 100%. There's more to it, but I'm trying to keep it simple.

In short: do not use Scale to Frame Size. Use Set to Frame Size. Now if you change the scale, it will also reflect the correct scale percentage.
