Bug Report for typing 'off'

Community Beginner ,
Jan 30, 2024 Jan 30, 2024

Premiere has this incredibly annoying bug currently. Whenever I type the word 'off' or 'eff' into a text box - the whole app crashes + shuts down and I lose all progress unsaved. I've tested this repeatedly and it's only when typing these words. Has any one else had this issue? Only been in past 1 month.

@claudiah51853527 I wonder if this has something to do with ligatures. Could you share which platform (Windows, Mac) and which OS version you're using as well as which Premiere Pro version? Also, when you are typing where is it? Is it a text field in the interface somewhere, or is it a title in the Program Monitor? Thanks.

Hi Matt,
I use a macbook air, ventura 13.6 OS. Premiere pro 24.0

The typing is for on-screen text. It's happening a lot more regularly now as well with more words

I think you're on the money. I changed fonts and the problem has stopped for now. Is there any way around this in the future?

See this post for options to turn ligatures on or off:

Do the methods still work? I have not tested recently.
