I'm trying to drag a WAV file from a folder onto my timeline or into a bin. As I hover open the bin I get the red 'no entry' symbol. When I drag in directly onto the timeline nothing happens.

What's occuring here?

[Moderator note: please simply drag/drop images onto your text reply area. "Attaching" files means others have to download unknown files to their computers. I fixed this instance for you.]

Simply dropping a file from Finder/Explorer does not get the best metadata of the file entered into the project. It is vastly better to use the Media Browser to import/ingest, or at least the import option from the Project panel. This is just meant as practical advice. Saves troubles down the road.

If the file is in a compressed folder: you cannot.

Uncompress first, like unzip.
