Hi everyone,

I'm trying to add subtitles to my video in Premiere Pro, but I'm facing an issue. I originally transcribed my video in Portuguese, then generated an English transcription, which I now want to import as a TXT subtitle file. However, Premiere Pro doesn't allow me to select Import > Transcribed Caption for my TXT file.

Can you describe exactly the steps you have taken?

If you are trying to import a corrected transcript then you need to have a 'static' transcript rather than a text-based-editing transcript before you can import a TXT file.

although the caption/subtitle workflow in Premiere has improved enormously, sometimes a thirdparty solution that focuses just on conversion between subtitle/caption formats can solve problems.   No idea if this will solve your problem, but worth a shot.

https://www.nikse.dk/subtitleedit

is available both as a web solution and an app.

and Stan Jones who participates here is a great resource for caption subtitle issues....
