Don't entirely know if I should call this a bug, but every once in a while, the export settings for my videos turn OFF the captions, despite me never changing anything to do with that setting.
I make almost the exact same type of videos every day, and all of them have captions. Our company's social media coordinator checks the videos before they are posted, and he noticed that there weren't any captions on the videos I made today. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, premiere just automatically turned captions off in the export settings. I had to re-export everything, which was a pain.
Is there some kind of feature I may accidentally be triggering? This happens once every blue moon, and I know I can just check if the captions are turned on before I export, but we're usually in a massive rush, and the more things I have to remember and check, the worse.
Thank you for the help!

Myles,
That's frustrating, whatever the cause!
I don't recall any recent reports of this, but vaguely recall some earlier in the new caption workflow. Or was that an issue of whether a preset was correctly keeping the caption setting on export from PR or queue to AME? What version of PR are you running?
I have only seen this if I actually changed something. For example, I go in to do a test and change to a different export format. Then I forget I did that, use my usual export and don't notice that the default has captions off. And once that happens, it will happily keep that wrong setting.
Are you using a preset with Captions set to burn in?

I sometimes switch to export a simple audio file once in a while, so that might reset my usual H.264 settings when I go back to it maybe? I am running Premiere 23.3.0, but I have noticed this many updates before this as well.
Not sure if there even is a fix for this, I'll just have to be more thorough checking the export settings.
