Hi community,
So I have tried to add some closed captions (CEA-708) to a film I am working on. I have successfully used captions before in this format and have not had this experience before. All my channels are visible and the captions are enabled.
When I go into the button editor I can find the Closed Captions Display button however this says 'not enabled' next to it and nothing happens when I click it. Can anyone advise?
Thanks
S

Hi JamMasterSam,
Sorry for the issue. Please create a new project & test closed captions in it.
Thanks,
Vidya.

I have the same problem and I just want to know why my caption are not appearing on the playback screen and neither on the caption's panel, even though it is showing that I have created them already?
I have done all what you said above and still not working.
Thanks.

Hi JamMasterSam,
Please check if you have set the correct closed caption standard in Closed captions display settings.
You can check in Program monitor Settings button > Closed captions display > Settings > Standard.
Also, please share a screenshot of the same with us
Thanks,
Vidya

Hi, I have the same problem. Also i cannot find Program Monitor Settings button- can you tell me where this is please?
I have been trying for literally hours to make captions visible in my program window. I can see them on the timeline and also in the project window. Yesterday someone on this forum suggested that my Premiere CC 2105 may be buggy (though i have never had any problems whatsoever) and I should upgrade. So I did that (now using 2018) and my problem is the same. I am up against a deadline and cannot see the captions. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

I suggest continuing the discussion in your original post. The devil is in the details, and this is an old thread. I have posted there.
